Transforming a former house of seven bedsits into our family home was a project both deeply personal and creatively freeing. It was an opportunity to design not for a client, but for ourselves - shaping a home that reflects how we live and what matters most to us.

From the outset, we wanted the house to feel entirely our own: calm and practical, yet layered with moments of playfulness and surprise.

Views through to the garden became a guiding thread, drawing light through the plan and creating a constant connection to the outdoors.

Storytelling sits at the heart of the design. Pieces collected over time sit alongside family artworks and objects gathered along the way, creating a home that feels personal rather than prescribed. There is a quiet confidence in allowing things to feel relaxed - a home designed for living, whether that’s hosting friends or simply everyday family life unfolding.

Sustainability was approached thoughtfully and pragmatically, with a focus on reuse, longevity and honest materials. Through-out the home, bespoke joinery balances what is on display with what is quietly concealed, allowing everything from books and objects to the realities of family life to find their place.

The result is a home that feels warm, welcoming and expressive - a true reflection of our family and the way we live.
